We designed these vintage cargo pants for the guy who needs gear that works as hard as he does—without sacrificing comfort. A pre-washed cotton-blend twill delivers that broken-in feel from day one, while six reinforced pockets (including oversized thigh cargos with snap flaps) give you room for tools, a phone, wallet, and everything else.
The mid-rise fit sits just below the waist with a slightly relaxed leg that tapers gently from knee to hem. Whether you’re running errands, working on a project, or just kicking back, these pants move with you. We built the Goodfellow & Co men’s vintage cargo pants from a mid-weight cotton-blend twill that balances durability with breathability. The fabric goes through a garment-wash process before it ever ships, so you skip the stiff break-in period—these feel lived-in from the first wear.
Reinforced bartack stitching at pocket corners and fly stops tears before they start, and the snap-button closures on the cargo pockets keep your gear secure without adding bulk. The waistband is slightly wider than standard chinos to distribute weight evenly when you load up the pockets. Every seam is double-stitched and flat-felled where stress is highest, including the inseam and back yoke.
Sizing, Fit & Styling
These vintage cargo pants run true to size with a mid-rise that sits about an inch below your natural waist. The fit is relaxed through the hip and thigh—enough room to move freely or layer a base layer underneath in cooler months—then tapers slightly from the knee down to avoid the baggy look.
We offer three inseam lengths: 30″ for a cropped or no-break look, 32″ for a classic straight break, and 34″ for taller builds. Pair them with a henley or crewneck tee for everyday wear, or throw on a flannel and boots when the forecast turns. The neutral vintage wash works with almost any color in your rotation, and the understated cargo pockets keep the silhouette clean enough for casual Fridays.

The thigh cargo pockets are the real workhorses: each measures roughly 7″ tall by 6″ wide with a reinforced snap flap that lays flat when empty. We positioned them high enough on the thigh to avoid bunching when you sit, and the box-pleat construction expands when you load them up. The snap hardware is matte-finish metal that won’t catch or snag, and the flaps are double-layered for extra strength.

Minimal shrinkage—about 1–2% in length and waist after the first wash if you tumble dry on high heat. We pre-wash the fabric during manufacturing to reduce further shrinkage. For best results, wash cold and tumble dry low, then hang or lay flat while slightly damp. If you’re between sizes, order your normal size; the relaxed fit through the hip and thigh gives you a little extra room.

Yes. Each cargo pocket is box-pleated with double-layer fabric at the base and reinforced bartack stitching at all four corners. We’ve load-tested them with up to three pounds per pocket without tearing or sagging. The snap flaps are anchored with metal hardware and extra stitching, so they won’t pull loose under normal use. For extremely heavy or sharp-edged tools, consider a dedicated tool belt to avoid stress on the fabric over time.
It depends on your workplace dress code. The vintage wash and cargo pockets give these a utilitarian, casual look—they’re not a substitute for chinos or dress pants. If your office allows jeans or relaxed separates, pair them with a button-down and clean sneakers or leather boots. For stricter business-casual environments, opt for our vintage wash chino pants instead, which have the same soft fabric but a cleaner front without cargo pockets.
Measure from your crotch seam to the floor while wearing the shoes you’ll pair with these pants. A 30-inch inseam sits above the ankle with a slight crop; 32-inch reaches the top of your shoe with a classic break; 34-inch works for taller builds or if you prefer a longer break at the hem. If you plan to cuff the legs, size up one inseam length. All three lengths have the same hip, thigh, and knee measurements—only the leg length changes.
The vintage effect is permanent—it’s achieved through a controlled garment-wash and enzyme treatment before shipping, not surface dye that washes out. You’ll see very minor fading after 20–30 washes, mostly at high-friction areas like the knees and seat, which actually enhances the vintage character. Washing in cold water and avoiding bleach will keep the color consistent. The fabric softens with every wash, but the overall tone stays true to what you see in the product photos.
Currently we offer only three inseam options. If you need a 28-inch or 36-inch inseam, consider having a tailor hem them to your exact length—the straight leg from knee to hem makes alterations straightforward. Hemming costs typically run ten to fifteen dollars and preserves the original hem finish. We’re evaluating extended sizing based on customer feedback, so check back for updates on additional inseam lengths in future releases.
